General air supply and extract systems
You can improve business productivity if your employees, clients, customers and visitors are in a building that has clean, fresh air. It’s well known that contaminated air is one of the most common causes of Sick Building Syndrome. Poor indoor air quality can result from biological contamination, such as bacteria, moulds, pollen and viruses that may breed in air ducts, humidifiers and drain pans.
The Health and Safety Commission’s code of practice states that all mechanical ventilation systems (including the ductwork) should be regularly and properly cleaned tested and maintained to ensure that they are kept clean and free from anything which may contaminate the air. CMK work within the requirements of TR/19, standard guidance document issued by the B&ES Association; British Standard and European Norm BSEN: 15780; and BG49/2013 & BSRIA’s guide on Commissioning Air Systems.
Regular ductwork cleaning is essential. To ensure that conditions for building occupants are comfortable and safe, building owners and managers have both a ‘duty of care’ and legal obligations to ensure that ventilation systems are kept clean by the most efficient ductwork and duct cleaning methods.
CMK can carry out surveys on properties to review air quality function and cleaning requirements. The main elements covered in this survey are:
Air Handling Unit (AHU) efficiency
Filtration effectiveness in the AHU
Air and surface contamination
Internal air duct surface deposit levels
Checking indoor air quality (IAQ)
Full cleaning of air ventilation systems.
